So what is exactly a ductless fume cabinet. OK, to start explaining we already for sure know what is a cabinet, so the catch to understand is about ductless fume.
Well, ductless fume cabinets are cabinets that manage to draw air in a control rate across the cabinet and hoods. This is used in Labs where you need to get red of fumes or dangeous gases.
Ductless fume cabinet are not cheap, but they are vital part of equipment for many laboratories. Also because they run on electricity there not cheap to maintain, but again they are vital to protect the person in front of the furniture of cabinet from having dangerous gases close to her/his face, eyes, etc.
One of the biggest advantages of the ducless fume cabinet is there are easy to transport, so they can be moved around the laboratories. This is perfect if you are consider to get one of this cabinets for a place like a school lab, where you could use the ductless fume cabinet around different labs, rooms and with different level of students.
Now the main difference between the ductless sysem and a normal fume system is that the ductless fume not only takes out the chemical fumes, but thanks to it’s new technology it actually recycle air directly back to the room where the cabinet is located. Pretty cool and very practical.
So i know many of you out there are wondering how really a ductless cabinet works… and well it is a bit complicate but mainly the mechanism through which activated carbon eliminates impurities from contaminated air saturated with chemical fumes is referred to as physical adsorption, and it is physycal adsorption where it all happens making these cabinets as a great and unique option for all the labs around the world.
